Dame Deborah James

In May 2022, the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK was set up to continue the incredible legacy of Dame Deborah James. Now, in time for Bowel Cancer Awareness Month this April, we’re excited to welcome two new partners supporting the Fund to give more people affected by cancer more time with the people they love.

omaze x bowelbabe shield

Teaming up with Omaze for its next Million Pound House Draw

Omaze gives people the chance to win life-changing prizes while raising money for good causes with its Million Pound House Draw. In 2021, it donated £500,000 to Cancer Research UK. Now, Omaze is partnering with the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK and committing at least £1m to support research into developing new bowel cancer therapies.

And you can get involved. One lucky winner will get the keys to a multi-million-pound property in Cheshire. Plus they’ll get £100,000 cash. Omaze covers all stamp duty and legal fees. By entering the draw, you’ll be helping raise money for cutting-edge bowel cancer research. It’s a win-win! To learn more and enter, visit omaze.co.uk

Bowelbabe Emma Bridgewater mug

Partnering with Emma Bridgewater on a special-edition mug

We’re delighted to share the Emma Bridgewater Purple Toast Bowelbabe ½ Pint Mug. Each of these handmade, earthenware mugs features beautiful words from Deborah. Emma Bridgewater is donating £5 for each of these mugs sold. They’re proving a hit, so if they show as sold out online, please sign up to get a message when they’re back in stock. Get your mug today in Emma Bridgewater shops or online at emmabridgewater.co.uk

Thank you

This Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported the Fund so far. Since the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK launched, you’ve raised over £12.5m including Gift Aid.

Thanks to research, bowel cancer survival has more than doubled in the last 40 years. But every day in the UK, 46 people still die from the disease. Its because of partners like Omaze and Emma Bridgewater and supporters like you that the Fund can power cutting-edge research, raise awareness and challenge stigmas. It’s thanks to you the Fund can help give more people affected by bowel cancer more time with the people they love.
