Cancer Research UK’s Tiffany Hall wins CIO of the year at Women in IT awards

Cancer Research UK’s chief information officer Tiffany Hall has been awarded CIO of the Year at the recent Women in IT Awards 2019.

Tiffany joined over 1,200 business and technology leaders at the fourth annual Women in IT Awards that celebrate the achievements and innovations of women working in technology. The event, which is the world’s largest tech diversity event dedicated to tackling the tech industry’s gender imbalance, saw a judging panel select winners across 21 categories from over 800 nominations.

Tiffany Hall was appointed chief information officer at Cancer Research UK in July 2017. Prior to this, Tiffany worked at the BBC for over 20 years in a range of technology leadership roles across the enterprise IT and broadcast engineering spectrum, including that of CIO.

Tiffany Hall, said: “I was so surprised, but very proud to win this award. In my eyes, it’s testament to the incredible work my entire team does each and every day to help us beat cancer.

“I’m a big advocate of equality, diversity and inclusion, and excited by the progress we’re making on this at Cancer Research UK. I hope that this award helps inspire more great people – women and men – to join our wonderful technology team.”
