Tania Bryer is a well-recognised broadcaster for CNBC and Sky. Her critically acclaimed show, CNBC Meets, sees her interview some of the world’s most inspiring figureheads to explore how their philanthropy is transforming lives. She is also host and moderator at prestigious events including the Davos World Economic Forum.  A philanthropist herself, Tania has been Chair of our National Events Committee (NEC) since 2011. As 2022 marks Cancer Research UK’s 20th anniversary, successfully chairing this committee for half of this time represents a unique achievement. Under Tania’s leadership, the NEC has delivered dozens of fabulous events, collectively raising over £5m for pioneering cancer research.

This significant income total is raised from a varied portfolio of special events, including the Cancer Research UK Carol Concert, which was held at St Paul’s Cathedral in 2019 and raised over £500k, and most recently Turn The Tables, held in March 2022, which raised £100k and saw Rishi Sunak interview Susanna Reid and Angela Rayner grill Adam Boulton. Tania played an active role in delivering both of these memorable events. In 2018, Tania received the CRUK Flame of Hope Award for Transformational Philanthropy, recognising her outstanding contribution to the charity.

Caro Evans, Director of Partnerships says, “Tania never turns down an opportunity to represent the charity and raise awareness of our work. She has endless motivation for, and commitment to Cancer Research UK, which we think should be celebrated. Her varied involvement in the NEC portfolio is stunning. She chairs meetings, leads committees, secures sponsorship and acts as our regular Master of Ceremonies. To do the amount of work she does for us within her already hectic schedule is just incredible. We’re so grateful for her and she should be incredibly proud of her many achievements over the last 10 years.”

Tania Bryer says, “It has been a privilege to lead the NEC and work with such a passionate and inspiring group of people over the last 10 years. Having overseen so many incredible events and raised much needed funds for crucial research, I’m very proud of all we’ve achieved together and look forward to much more to come as I truly believe in the CRUK vision that together we will beat cancer.”
