Martin is Cancer Research UK’s Head Information Nurse and has been working with cancer patients and their families for the last 27 years, initially as a ward based nurse and for the last 19 years in the field of information giving. He currently manages the charity’s helpline service which responds to 11,000 enquiries a year from members of the public with questions about cancer by phone email and through our online forum Cancer Chat. Martin volunteers on the board of the International Cancer Information Services Group and has a Masters Degree in Health Education. He is committed to ensuring that people affected by or worried about cancer get the information and support they need to help them cope with their situation and to enable them to take back some control over their lives.
