Cancer Research UK charity shop

Cancer Research UK’s 470 charity shops in England have closed for one month from 5 November, following the announcement of a national lockdown.

This follows a ‘fire break’ lockdown in Wales, which closed all 21 of Cancer Research UK’s Welsh stores on 23 October for 2 weeks. Shops across Wales are set to reopen on 9 November, while stores in Northern Ireland and Scotland will continue to trade according to the local tier systems in place.

Cancer Research UK will continue to monitor local guidance to keep everyone as safe as possible. While the 470 shops in England are temporarily closed, we’re asking people not to leave donations on shop doorsteps. Without anyone to accept them, donations could be damaged, stolen or become a hazard to the community.

Funding life-saving research

For anyone looking for great value Christmas cards, decorations or gifts while stores are closed, Cancer Research UK’s online shop has a fabulous range of products. You can also check out their donated items – from fashion to homeware and collectibles – on ASOS Marketplace, Depop and eBay, all of which would make great gifts for those who like to reduce, reuse and recycle.

100% of the profits from all sales on the online shop goes towards the charity’s life-saving research. Last year alone, Cancer Research UK’s charity shops contributed £22 million towards life-saving cancer research.
